Steven Nichols, FCA, CTA is the Managing Partner at Nichols & Co.

He has a proven track record in providing accountancy and tax services for the healthcare sector and is acknowledged as a leading practitioner in this field. He is a member of AISMA (The Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants).

Professional Qualifications

Steve qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989 and a chartered tax advisor in 1992.

Healthcare Experience

Steve launched Nichols & Co as a specialist healthcare accountancy firm in 2000. Since then he has been joined by Shadmir, Debra and Danny who head up the healthcare team.

Nichols & Co continues to gain momentum and is now well established in London and the South East as a specialist firm setting standards in terms of medical accountancy and taxation services.

Steve talks regularly on taxation and medical financial matters.

Steve’s Responsibilities

Steve has overall responsibility for the team delivering accountancy and tax services to hundreds of medical professionals including consultants, GPS, locums and retired practitioners on a daily basis.

Shadmir Baig, FCCA is the Medical Services Partner at Nichols & Co.

Professional Qualifications

Shadmir qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 2008 and achieved his fellowship in 2018.

He graduated from Oxford Brooks University with a BSC (Hons) in Accounting in 2005.

Shadmir’s Role

Shadmir was promoted to Medical Services Partner in 2019 and is responsible for the firm’s portfolio of healthcare clients including consultants, locums, GPs and hospital doctors.

His role involves the hands-on account management of our healthcare clients, he is also responsible for a team of medical accountants.

Shadmir has a particular interest in business start-ups and specialises in cloud based accounting solutions.

He delivers an exceptional personalised service and ensures that his clients can always make informed financial decisions.

Debra Williams FCCA, CTA is the Medical Tax Director at Nichols & Co.

Debra is a chartered tax advisor as well as being a qualified accountant.

She arranges seminars for the firm’s GP and Consultant clients covering technical financial matters. She also teaches financial awareness to 3rd year registrars to ensure they have an appreciation of the accounting, tax and NHS pension implications of becoming GP a principal.

Debra’s Role

Debra oversees a large portfolio of GP partnerships where she is an expert in all aspects of GP accounts, tax and NHS pensions.

She is responsible for advising consultants and locums on the most appropriate business structures and is an expert in NHS pensions management for consultants including dealing with scheme pays.

Debra deals with a large portfolio of medical tax cases each year.

Danny’s Role

Danny manages a large portfolio of healthcare clients. He is responsible for the accounting, taxation and NHS pension management for consultants, GPs, locums and hospital doctors.

He oversees a large number of medical personnel tax cases each year.

Danny has a strong understanding of the healthcare sector and is able to help everyone from newly qualified doctors to retired consultants.
